A plan for 50 is not a reason to promise all 50 to shipping. Keeping the outstanding quantity explicit allows production and sales to agree a realistic next step. After completion, inventory staff review the resulting finished goods while production and finance review recorded material, labor and available cost information. Missing entries or variances go back to the responsible team.
